Race rules

1) The Marcialonga Craft is a road cycling race scheduled on Sunday, 26^th May 2024 over two distances:
Granfondo 135 km
Mediofondo 80 km.

2) Participation is open to road cyclists with an UCI card valid for 2024. Those who do not have a valid UCI card, must request the ACSI day-card (for free) presenting a valid medical certification.

The categories allowed are: Junior M, Senior A M, Senior B M, Veterano A M, Veterani B M, Gentleman A M, Gentleman B M, Super G/A M, Super G/B M, Woman A - B - C. 
Pro-athletes, Elite and Under 23 are admitted only for promotional purposes upon invitation from the Organising Committee and have no right to be ranked.

The Organising Committee has the right to reject entries of competitors with a proved unsportsmanlike behaviour especially when previously disqualified for doping.

3) Entries must be submitted on-line. Entry forms that are incomplete of data or without the payment will not be accepted.

Teams’ registration can be done by sending the appropriate form with the copy of the total payment enclosed.

The entry gives the right to compete in the race, to collect the goodie bag (only during the race office opening time) and to use all the services provided by the Organizing Committee: drink and feeding stations, technical and medical assistance, bike parking, pasta party, massages, dressing rooms, showers and medal at the finish. Every other expense is in charge of the competitor.

4) The entry-fee is:

• 30,00 € on 24.11.2023
• 38,00 € from 25.11.2023 until 17.03.2024
• 43,00 € from 18.03.2024 until 19.05.2024
• 48,00 € from 20.05.2024 until 24.05.2024
• 53,00 only on 26.05.2024 – deadline (only on spot).

On-line entries will close Friday, May 25th at 6.00 p.m.
For those who cannot take part in the race, the Organising Committee gives the possibility to ask for the passage of the fee (not starting number) to another cyclist. The request must be sent within Thursday, May 24th to info@marcialonga.it with the details of the new racer. The fee for the name change is 10,00 € that will be requested at the start number collection.

Entry-fees will not be returned for any reason and are not valid for next editions. The exchange of bibs among competitors is forbidden and can lead to disqualification.

5) The starting numbers are decided by the OC according to the best percentage of the athlete. Percentage is the ratio between the placing in 2022 or 2023 and the number of competitors in the same year: rank x 100 / competitors. When first time entry, other races could be considered if communicated on the entry-form.

If the group fills up, the racer will move to next available one. No seeding request will be taken in consideration on the race day nor at the race office

6) The starting number must be collected at the Race Office in Predazzo:

• Friday 3.00 – 7.00 p.m.
• Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Sunday 6:00 – 7:30 a.m.

At the number collection the following documents will be requested:

• ID document
• For UCI members: UCI card
• For non-licensed cyclists: the copy of the medical certificate to ask for the one-day card by ACSI

7) The timing service is provided by EvoData. Participants must use a personal chip or a rental chip in order to have their race time. Participants not using the chip or not fixing it properly on the bicycle will not be listed in the official results.

The general ranking will be drawn up on the official time while the age category ranking, on the real time.

8) The start in Predazzo is at 8.00 a.m. The check-in at the gate begins at 7.00 a.m. and it is mandatory. Start in a previous gate will lead to disqualification.

9) The distance between the two lengths can be chosen during the race.

The time limit is 5 hours for the medium distance and 8 hours for the long one.

Electronic passage checking will be set up by the Organising Committee: passage in those points is mandatory for qualification in the ranking.
Moreover, the following time-gates will be set:

• Pampeago Pass (km 60) at 12:00 p.m.
• Predazzo (km 80) at 12:30 p.m. (after this time all participants will be redirected to the finish of the medium course);
• San Pellegrino Pass (Km 100) at 2:00 p.m.

Those who do not pass in these times limits will be considered out of the race. A service for collecting those who are out of race or no more able to continue is provided by the organization.

10) The roads are open to the normal traffic: each competitor must observe the traffic rules and behave consequently.

11) It is mandatory to wear a helmet during the whole race, tightly fixed. The use of any transceiver equipment is strictly prohibited.

12) The use of private technical assistance is strictly forbidden and leads to disqualification. An appropriate assistance is provided by the organization indicated along the course or the competitor can do it by her/himself.

13) There will be feeding stations pointed out on the profile map.
Dumping of waste outside the dedicated containers is forbidden. The OC is authorised to disqualify (or penalize) the competitors who do not respect this rule.

14) The finish line is in Predazzo. After passing the finish line each competitor receives the medal. The following services are available: medical assistance, feeding station, bike parking, pasta party, massage service, showers, dressing rooms.

15) For circumstances beyond one's control, the Organising Committee can decide to make changes to the race rules, to the course or even cancel the race. In case of cancellation the Organizing Committee will guarantee to all the registered people the 50% discount on next year fee.

16) Protests must be delivered to the Jury within half an hour after the end of the race, accompanied by a tax decided by ACSI. The fee will be refunded if the protest is accepted.

17) It must be clear that to take part in Marcialonga Craft it is necessary to be physically and technically well-prepared: for this reason, each competitor, when entering the race, is personally responsible for declaring to be properly trained.

18) The Organizing Committee is authorized to apply penalties or disqualify competitors for unsportsmanlike conduct during the event. It is mandatory to use the dedicated points and containers for throwing away plastic and food waste. Dumping of waste outside the containers is forbidden. The OC is authorized to disqualify the competitors who do not respect this rule.
By sending the entry-form the competitor, together with the chief of the team, certifies that there are no sporting sanctions, civil and/or criminal penalties, even if granted, or ongoing investigations against her/him for acts relating to doping and declare not to have assumed or not assuming substances included in the list of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The mendacious self-certification will be prosecuted according to law.

19) By sending the entry-form, competitors acknowledge and accept these rules. The competitor exempts the Organising Committee from any liability in case of damage done or suffered.
