The rules to take part in the Marcialonga skiing race

1) The international F.I.S. popular cross-country ski race Marcialonga di Fiemme e Fassa will take place the last Sunday of January over two distances:

Marcialonga Light Moena - Predazzo 45 k Classic Technique
Marcialonga Moena - Cavalese 70 k Classic Technique

2) To participate in the 70 km Marcialonga all athletes, male and female or members of the National Associations belonging to F.I.S., must be 18 or older.

The 45 km Marcialonga is open to all athletes, male and female or members of the National Associations belonging to F.I.S., that have turned 16 and older. For the athletes under 18 a written permission from the parents is required to partecipate.

3) It is possible to register on-line. The on-line registrations must be filled in detail. The registration fee must be paid to complete the registration. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted.
The Organizing Committee could anticipate the entries deadline when reaching the final number of 7.000 competitors for the 70 km race and 600 competitors for the 45 km race: only in this case the entry fees will be refunded. The entry gives the right to compete in the race and to use all the services provided by the Organizing Committee: shuttle buses (only upon reservation), feeding stations, technical assistance, waxing service along the course, transport of clothes from start to finish (max weight 3 kg and value not higher than the entry-fee) and the services at the finish. Any other expenses are charged to the competitor.

4) The entry-fee is:
€ 104,00 from 04.06.2024 until 31.08.2024
€ 114,00 from 01.09.2024 until December 31.12.2024
€ 124,00 from 01.01.2025 until 19.01.2025 (deadline)

In case of inability to participate there is the opportunity called "fee-transfer" (not of the start-number) from a participant to another of the same nationality. The written request must be submitted before 20th January by the registered person, and it must contain all personal details of the new competitor. The "fee-transfer" will cost €20,00 if communicated before january 12th , €30,00 if communicated from 13th to 20th of January and it will be paid at the race office when collecting the bib.

The request for the distance change is accepted only in case of availability of start-numbers until 20th January and charged of 20,00€ to be paid at the race office.

The exchange of bibs among competitors is forbidden and can lead to disqualification and the ban to enter the race for both the persons for the next two years (both for the registered skier and the skier who race).
Entry-fees will neither be returned for any reason nor considered valid for next editions.

5)The starting number is decided by the Organising Committee with unquestionable sentence according to the best percentage of the athlete. Percentage is the ratio between the placing in 2023-2024 and the number of starting competitors in the same year that is RANK x 100 ÷ STARTERS
To assign the bib, Marcialonga results will be prioritized above all others. In case of first time participation or older Marcialonga results, other Worldloppet races of 2023-24 will be taken into consideration by the OC as shown in the seeding table (see the SEEDING TABLE). Every athlete must communicate the results on the registration form.
The races of the season 2024-2025 will be taken into consideration until 31st December 2024.
The OC can evaluate older results (2022) by adding one or more groups to the percentage.
The percentage in the short race Marcialonga Light will be taken into consideration for those competitors who want to register for the first time in the 70 km, by adding two groups.

The seeding request after the registration date will be taken into consideration only in case of availability of bibs in the group.

No seeding request will be considered the week before the race neither at the race office.

If the group fills up, the skier will move to next lower available.
